This week we speak to Nevena Spirovska; Vice President of the National Homeless Collective, Australian delegate for the UN’s Commission on the status of women and all round kick ass lady. Nevena talks to us about the Melbourne Period Project and her incredible activism work.
Nevena is an incredible woman. She is Vice President of National Homeless Collective and is on the governing body of Melbourne Period Project, which gives sanitary items to women.
She was also Australian delegate to the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women, in New York City in March 2018. She has been involved with Sleeping Bags for the Homeless, Secret Women’s Business, the Plate Up Project and The School Project.
She campaigned as a member of the Sex Party and founded High Alert an independent, grassroots drug law reform campaign. She also founded Welfair, a campaign against the proposal to drug test welfare recipients.
